Hello...again!  If you've followed me over the last few years you may remember that I had a blog called A Slice of Glam.  I'd link to it, buuuut...I went on a deleting spree and deleted the blog, my ig, twitter, Facebook...you get the point.  Why?  At the beginning of the year I was so frustrated and just exhausted...with life in general.  While my little blog gave me experiences and opportunities that I had a lot of fun with, I just wasn't happy.  I started my blog to write about food and fashion, hence the title "slice" of glam.  But after a while I just didn't like it anymore.  I wasn't inspired to write, and the thief of joy called "comparison to others" had set in...

My grandmother, who if you know me then you know she was my ROCK, was sick and in and out of the hospital and nursing home starting in October 2015 and passed away in March of this year.  After she was gone I felt like I'd lost...everything.  Already my parents were gone, and now she was gone...I felt so incredibly alone.  I gathered myself and thought..."my grandma lost every person that she loved, but she still kept going everyday and was strong, how did she do it??".  I racked my brain thinking of what kept her going...the answer was simple.  She was not doing it alone.  She had her faith.  Her FAITH is what kept her going, so that is what I needed to do!  The last words she whispered to me was "just do your best...I love you".  So over the last few months, I've been reanalyzing my life and priorities.   I moved back to my hometown of Waco after 10 years of being away.  I NEVER thought I'd move back home, but it was the right decision.  I decided to come back to basically start over.  Being close to my family and old friends has been so comforting.  I've also put on a few pounds because ya know...Bush's Chicken (Google it, thank me later) but I'll work on that in 2017.  Ha!  I've also made new friends that already feel like family.

So why come back to the blog world?  I missed writing.  I'm a writer, I always have been since I was little.  Poems, journal entries, short stories...um, text message (don't call, just text me, lol).  It's my outlet.  I've been planning for months on what I was going to call the blog, what I'd write about.  Finally I decided on making it self-titled and writing about the things I'm truly passionate about.  Fashion, faith, beauty (thanks YouTube beauty gurus!), and lifestyle, which will include my fitness journey, books I'm reading, home decor, and mental health posts.  So welcome back to my little, teeny tiny corner of the internet!  I hope you'll join along this new journey with me!
